Where does the time go?! We are once again gearing up for a fabulous festive season at William’s. Our shelves are starting to feature seasonal products such as the delicious Ginger Sticks in Dark chocolate, and fabulous tins of La Sabléssiene Biscuits (we fell in love with the tins, and then were delighted to find that the biscuits tasted every bit as good). The iconic Charbonnel and Walker Chocolates will be arriving soon along with a host of other goodies to give as gifts, or simply savour yourself.

We are proud to stock Goodmans Free Range Bronze Turkeys and Geese once again this year. We have returned to this award-winning producer year after year for good reason; their birds are slow grown for better flavour, and are reared under high welfare conditions. Whilst they are now tucked up in deep straw in barns, to satisfy government legislation, these lucky birds have spent the majority of their lives free-range and grass-fed, giving them not only good flavour, but a better texture. If you prefer an alternative to the most traditional Christmas birds, we will also be stocking Creedy Carver ducks with a reputation for flavour that is second to none. In addition, you can tick off another festive favourite and order one of our sugar-roasted whole or half hams. To complete the meal, our chefs are preparing William’s Christmas pudding to our traditional recipe.

Whether you choose to take the pressure off making that perfect Christmas meal with our Chef-Prepared range of side dishes and sauces to complement your roast, or just want to make your cheeseboard a pièce de résistance, we have something to please everyone.  You can also request items from our Winter menu of Chef-Prepared dishes, listed on our website under ‘Chef-Prepared Dishes’.

Our slab will offer the usual array of superb fresh fish, but it’s best to pre-order at Christmas time, and for the New Year as well. Prices listed on the Christmas list may be subject to change.

There are whole sides of smoked salmon, blinis and caviar (by pre-order) from the shop to put you in the mood for the festive season, not to mention our fantastic Crayfish Mayo mix that makes a cinch of canapés when decanted into our croustades. This year, I can also highly recommend Findlater patés atop cocktail-sized Oatcake biscuits as a great cheat.  We also have our popular Salted Catalan Almonds and packets of Truffle, Iberian Ham, Paprika or Himalayan Sea Salt flavoured crisps which you might choose to dip in Hummus or our locally sourced Taramasalata. Oh, and I can’t overlook our fabulous Gordal Spiced Olives which have an almost cult following amongst some of our customers!

We are putting the finishing touches to a new range of Hampers, which will be on our website shortly, or you can create your own bespoke hamper if you prefer. We are also delighted to be stocking Richard Bramble’s fabulous fishy tableware and tea towels which make a lovely gift. Once you have made your selection, please email us at info@williamsfoodhall.co.uk to place your order. Sarah will always reply with an order confirmation, so if you don’t receive one, please call us to make sure that your email has got through.  You can place or amend your order up until the final cut-off date on Wednesday 14th December. We will try, but cannot guarantee, to fulfil orders after that date.

Please remember to include a name, mobile phone number, and preferred date for collection. If your order includes a Turkey or Goose, then collection must be on Friday 23rd or Saturday 24th December. All shop opening hours for the Christmas week are on the order sheet.

We look forward to seeing you soon in the shop and in the restaurant too!
